eBay Zorki-3M Camera, Serial Number 5573817. To my mind the most beautiful russian camera. This camera came into my possession in poor condition and has undergone a complete restoration. The following work was carried out during the restoration process: Full disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication of all camera mechanisms. Repainting of some internal surfaces. Replacement of the old shutter with a new one made of Japanese fabric. Adjustment of camera and lens focal lengths. Grinding of some components (shafts, slow shutter mechanism) to reduce friction. Calibration of fast shutter speeds. Technical Condition: There are no signs of impacts on the body. Chrome-plated parts are clean without corrosion. Some paint is peeling off on painted parts. The viewfinder is clean and transparent, diopter correction works. A DIY flash sync was installed by the previous owner. Currently, the sync contact does not work and has no impact on the camera’s functionality. Fast shutter speeds were electronically tested. 1/25-1/500 work with +/- 10% accuracy. I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the 1/1000 shutter speed as I lack the technical abbiliyu to test it. However, due to age-related spring fatigue, the 1/1000 shutter speed usually operates slower than expected. This is normal for cameras of its age. The slow shutter mechanism functions properly, but the accuracy of slow speeds has not been tested. The camera was tested with film. Focusing is good. At fully open aperture, the image is somewhat soft, which is characteristic of Soviet lenses of that period. Starting from f/4, the image is sharp and contrasty. Photo in attachment was taken by this particular camera and lens at f4-5,6. Jupiter-8 2/50 Lens: The lens was also disassembled, cleaned, and lubricated. Smooth focusing and aperture ring movement. Glass is clean without fungus or major scratches. No visible damage. Minor scrathes on the front lens are visible under magnification, likely from wiping, while the rear lens is clean. The case has also been restored. Cleaned and re-stitched with synthetic threads. Treated with leather care product. A new genuine leather strap has been made. The kit includes everything you see in the photos: Camera, Lens, Lens cap, Case. To assess the extent of restoration, I am including some photos of the work process and a test shot. I have described the camera as thoroughly and honestly as possible, even if it may have shown some negative aspects. I am confident that the camera will be able to produce decent photos considering its level. However, please do not have inflated expectations regarding the camera. It is just an old Soviet camera. Sometimes I sell restored cameras from my collection. Feel free to inquire if interested.
