This repurposed distressed frame features 11 colorful birds, sitting on a branch. I named it «The Chit Chat Club» because they reminded me of a coffee klatch, meeting to share the morning’s gossip. The birds were lovingly created by hand, cutting and grinding a rainbow of colored stained glass. The background is created using shattered glass that sparkles like diamonds in the sun. The glass border is a party of rainbow, Fiesta colors. It measures approximately 15″ x 27.» This gorgeous creation, features over 100 hand cut, pieces of glass in the birds alone and the colorful border is over 160 pieces. it truly glows in the light and the refraction is simply stunning. All colors of the rainbow, combined with the clear backgroynd make this truly a OOAK (one of a kind) party of color piece of Glass Art. Take one salvaged old wooden window, add some stained glass and let the light shine through. We believe in retaining as much of the history in each of our ‘found’ raw materials as we can. For the windows, that means leaving the original glass. We hand cut our stained glass, following a pattern, just the same as for a soldered panel. The glass is glued to the original glass and then grouted. It also means, leaving the original finish when possible. We believe there is always beauty to be found in the ‘signs of love’ in the passage of time and a story to be told (or imagined). We do, however, realize that not all paint and finish is desirable for your home. We seal all of our windows with Polycrylic so they are safe and easy to clean, yet still showcasing there lovely patina when possible. After a good cleaning and polishing, the window is ready to be displayed in your home or garden. The windows can be displayed leaning in an existing window ledge or hung in front of a window. They are equally at home hanging outside in your garden, patio or screen enclosure.
