This listing is for two really heavy bas relief paper pulp Easter bunnies on stands. They were purchased by the owner in 1954 in Augsburg Germany. I know, because they wrote that information on the back. The pieces are just so stunning. The paint is original — no repaints. The paint is rubbed and chipped in places. The paper pulp is very heavy, and the bas relief is very deep. They look 3D, but are flat. They have stands, but the stands (original) are just very cheap cardboard that isn’t very sturdy. The stands are attached with a brad that front the front looks like a clothing button. They are large — standing about 15.5 inches tall. They are painted in really bright, primary colors. They are typical of the Erzgebirge pieces — they look very much like the little wooden bunnies made in the same region. They also echo the designs on the paper pulp and cardboard candy containers. They really are terrific, and won’t disappoint.
