Dinah Washington was an American singer and pianist, one of the most popular black female recording artists of the 1950s. Primarily a jazz vocalist, she called herself the Queen of Blues. The reverse side has a splatter paint design. They are hand-painted with acrylics and ink on dense board with gold plated hooks. They are quite lightweight and measure about 2.5 inches long. This is my 7th year in a row celebrating BHM by creating a pair of earrings that honor an African Amercian hero (fictional and real) and donating proceeds to a worthy cause benefitting the local Black community.
