Here are incomplete sections of four different early American almanacs, the first two apparently by Nathaniel Ames and I believe the last one is by Isaiah Thomas based on the articles and format (see below). All have some weather and astronomical tables and poetry, with other interesting features as mentioned below including an early essay with quotes by Benjamin Franklin! 3 leaves (6 pages) from 1752, separated, including an essay by Ames about the wonders of the human body (Machine), the dangers of drink, and the importance of Abstinence and proper Evacuations (!) 6 leaves from 1763, with 3 pages of “A Brief Chronology of Remarkable Events, relating chiefly to the present War” (French and Indian War), from 1749-1762—“the perfidious French”! Also with essays “On Raising Flax” and “Of the Settlement and Increase of New-England”, which discusses the possible annexation of Canada by the British, and includes quotes by Benjamin Franklin from his essay “Observations Concerning the increase of Mankind” (shown highlighted in the eighth photo).
